High School sophomores, juniors and seniors are encouraged to participate in job shadowing activities
at Fort Madison Community Hospital to explore a wide range of career options. FMCH prefers
to schedule several students to shadow on the same day. Usually, these days are
coordinated through teachers and the FMCH Education Manager.
The average job shadowing student spends four hours with the department of their
choice, enjoys a free lunch provided by FMCH, takes a tour of the hospital and
finishes their day with a survey of their experience. Students are required to wear
business casual attire when shadowing and complete patient confidentiality training.
If you are interested in job shadowing at Fort Madison Community Hospital, please
ask your teacher to contact Laurie Lampe at 319-376-2223.
FMCH also offers an Medical Explorer Post and Junior Volunteer Program for career exploration.
