Fort Madison Community Hospital is a place that counts on its qualified, knowledgeable staff to be committed to the common goal of wellness for all in our community. To thank each of our employees for their commitment to FMCH, we offer the following comprehensive benefit package.

Health, Dental and Life Insurance
Our health insurance provider is Principal. FMCH pays a large percentage of the premium costs for health insurance. Dental and life insurance is provided at no cost to our employees. Accidental death and dismemberment coverage is also included.

Paid Vacation
Employees earn two weeks of paid vacation time after one year of service. One week of this time may be taken after six months of service. Paid vacation time increases after five years of service, and again after twelve years of service.

Holiday Pay
Employees will receive paid holiday time off for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and two employee-chosen personal holidays per year.

Sick Leave
Full-time and salaried employees accrue sick leave benefits at the rate of 12 days per year (1 day for every month of full service). Each year, 3 out of the 12 sick days can be used to care for a sick family member. Family is defined as the employee’s parents, spouse, or children.

Bereavement Leave
Up to three days of paid bereavement leave will be provided to employees who experience the loss of an immediate family member.

401K Plan
The plan offers a generous benefit contributed by FMCH, and allows employees to add their own contributions. To enroll, employees must complete one year of service, be at least 21 years of age and work 20 or more hours a week on a regular basis.

Tuition Assistance
To the extent of available funds, FMCH will reimburse up to $1500 per year.

IRS Section 125 Benefit
This program allows you to save for out-of-pocket medically related expenses and/or dependent care with before-tax earnings.

Jury Duty Leave
FMCH will grant employees up to two weeks of paid jury duty leave per year.

Fitness Equipment Use
Employees are welcome to use the fitness equipment in the Rehabilitation Services department free of charge.
