Fort Madison Community Hospital's Sleep Studies Center is for people who experience excessive
snoring, sleep apnea, nighttime leg movements or sleep problems originating from illness or
various lifestyle stress.
Patients spend the night in a comfortable, queen-sized bed where they are monitored by computer
devices used to record sleep patterns. The data is analyzed and scored by a trained sleep
disorders physician who then diagnoses the patient.
Once the patient is diagnosed, the Sleep Studies Center staff works with them toward a
solution and a better night's rest.
FMCH's Sleep Studies Center is a physician-referred, accredited program. Most insurances
will provide coverage as long as admission to the Center is deemed medically necessary.
Potential patients should check with their medical insurer prior to admission.
