Gibson Joins FMCH Orthopedics Clinic

Fort Madison Community Hospital Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Clinic is pleased to welcome Physician Assistant, Kyle Gibson to their team of health care professionals.

Gibson recently graduated from Eastern Michigan University with his Masters in Physician Assistant Studies.  He also holds a Masters in Exercise Science from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Central Methodist University.  Gibson worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for Central Michigan University, a Division I school, before starting his Masters in Physician Assistant program.

“I have been involved with sports my whole life.  I was the athlete that always seemed to get hurt, so I was around health care professionals a lot.  They helped me decide to go into health care,” expressed Gibson. “I particularly enjoy Orthopedics.  Seeing patients come in with a concern, providing treatment options, restoring function and then watching them return to the activities they enjoy is very rewarding.”

Gibson will join Dr. Brent Woodbury, Dr. Derek Breder and Physician Assistants Paul Ostby and Ted Smith in the care of patients with concerns of the musculoskeletal system which includes bones, muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons. These specialized health care professionals use their expertise to evaluate, diagnose and consult with patients to create an appropriate plan of care.

“I am looking forward to being part of the successful Orthopedics team at Fort Madison Community Hospital and doing my part to help take care of our patients.  This is a great community to settle down and begin the next phase of my career.”  Gibson commented. “I was born and raised in Columbia, Missouri so am looking forward to being close to family.  I love the outdoors, hunting, fishing and of course sports, and feel this will be a great place to enjoy all of these activities.”
