Dr. Leah Denning

Leah Denning, M.D., an Obstetrician/Gynecologist, joined The Women's Center in 2005. A native of Houghton, Dr. Denning returned to her hometown area to practice medicine after completing her residency at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis.

Dr. Denning’s decision to join The Women’s Center was motivated by her desire to spend more time with her family. She also credits her family, specifically her mother, for influencing her decision to choose to pursue a career in medicine.

“I’ve had a general interest in healthcare for as long as I can remember. My mother is a nurse and I always thought I would be, too. I ultimately decided that becoming a physician would be the best way I could help others within the community” said Dr. Denning.

Dr. Denning is a graduate of the University of Iowa Roy Carver College of Medicine. She believes that women need to “create more time for themselves to focus on enjoying life and to actually care for themselves.” She practices what she preaches by making time in her own schedule to regularly workout, read, scrapbook, cook, and do crafts.
