FMCH Family Practice Clinic Welcomes Dr. David

The Family Practice Clinic at Fort Madison Community Hospital is pleased to welcome Family Practitioner, Dr. Michael David, to their team of health care providers.

Dr. David is a Board Certified Family Practice Provider and comes to FMCH with over thirty-five years of experience, mostly in private practice in Kansas and Oklahoma.  He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from the Kansas City University, College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He completed his rotating internship at Osteopathic Hospital of Wichita.  Dr. David will see patients of all ages, from newborn to geriatrics.

“I am looking forward to being part of the community, taking care of patients who need both preventative and disease management healthcare,” expressed Dr. David. “I see my role as a Family Practitioner as two-fold.  First, by building a long-term relationship and sense of trust with my patients I can help them reduce their risk factors for disease through prevention-guiding them to better health.  Second, working with my patients to dig out those diagnoses that have been elusive so an appropriate treatment plan can be prescribed and patients can regain their health.”

“I knew I wanted to be a doctor since the age of seven.  My mother became ill with tuberculosis and was sent away to be treated.  When she returned she was well again.  This piqued my interest in healing people-which carried into my scouting days and eventually landed me my first job in a hospital at the age of 16, first in the Dietary department and then as an Orderly. I eventually achieved my goal of being a Family Practice Doctor.”

FMCH Home Health Care adds Hospice Care

Fort Madison Community Hospital (FMCH) Home Health Care will begin offering Hospice Care in early Spring 2018.  This enhanced service line will now be known as FMCH Home Health & Hospice.

FMCH Home Health & Hospice will continue to provide in-home health care services that include medical care, personal care and rehabilitation therapy while adding hospice care. The focus will remain on teaching clients to care for themselves, manage their health challenges and remain safely in the comfort of their own homes.  By adding hospice care, these professionals will be joined by a chaplain and social worker to provide continuity of care for chronically ill, terminally ill or seriously ill patients.  Working together as a care team, they will be able to develop a personalized plan of care to help these patients and their families through this difficult journey.

“We are really excited to offer hospice care to our clients.  Many times we find ourselves caring for their physical needs up to the point where hospice care takes over. We want to be able to continue the medical care while also providing the emotional and spiritual care so vital when our patients are facing a life-limiting illness or injury,” expressed Deb Green, FMCH Home Health & Hospice Director.  “We are very fortunate to have the support of our FMCH Foundation to help make this opportunity possible.” Read more...

See what Good Health is made of at FMCH.

I gave birth to a baby at FMCH in October. From the moment, I was checked in, I received excellent care. My labor and delivery did not go as planned and ended up after 39 hours, having an emergency c-section. The Birth Place nurses and student nurses are wonderful. When the baby's heartbeat rapidly descended and Dr. Staudte made the decision that it was time for ...

Recently had several tests one after the other.  I received EXCELLENT care and compassion towards my needs.

Questions Answered

They answer all my questions.

Eased my tears

Concerns of issues with my recovery were obvious. I felt confident they knew what they were doing and I was in good hands. They eased my tears and encouraged me when they gave me things to do in therapy.

I was very impressed with the doctor.  He took the time to listen & help my son.  I usually hate going to ER because I never leave with a solution.  Very, very satisfied with *Dr. O'Brien.

FMCH has a wonderful ER.  My overall experience now a in the past has always been excellent.

From George

This was my first hospital stay in 40/50 yrs. except for some outpatient exams/treatments, so there are no comparisons I can remember.  My grown children though I should be transferred to a larger hospital (Ia. City, etc.).  However, as I told them, I was really satisfied & impressed by the entire staff @ FMCH.  It's easy to be complimentary wh...

Dr. Napier

Dr Napier is a true asset at FMCH! He is always very thorough, very patient and understanding, and extremely easy to talk to. He is one of the most caring doctors I have ever had. I feel blessed that he is our doctor.

Love them All

It would be a challenge to find personnel more capable, more congenial, and more helpful than the personnel in this office. I am always greeted with a smile (sometimes with a needle). I love them all.

Front Desk

I am unsure of receptionist's name who waited on me, but she was very nice and very professional all while being personable.

Very Pleased

I was very pleased with everything that day. I called that morning and was able to get in at 9:00 a.m. the same day. Awesome.

Over 20 years

Have had Dr.Anderson as my doctor for over 20 years. Her and her nursing staff have always been great!

I was treated exceptionally well.

Dr. Kathy Anderson

I recommend Dr. Kathy Anderson as Employee of the Month. I really enjoy having her as my doctor. She listens closely to what you have to say, answers questions so you can understand them, and she talks to you not at you.

Great Experience

For my first appointment, this was a great experience! Every one was courteous and helpful! I would highly recommend this to others!!!

"FMCH is a great service with a great staff, we are fortunate to have such a facility in our community."

Amanda and her staff are great, the best mental health care I have ever received in the 14 years I have needed mental health care. I would recommend Amanda to anyone. She is caring, down to earth, and always listens to any questions and/or concerns I may have.

The Facility

"A very good facility, we are recommending you."

The compassionate nursing staff is the best asset to your ER at least on this visit. They and Radiology were excellent.

Payment Schedule

Just finished paying last payment for my new knee. Nice lady in office helped me set up a schedule as to how much to pay it off the quickest and easiest for me. Hope I get her to help me next time.

Friendly staff, asked for two patient identifiers, one stick, good lab experience!

Personal Care

Excellent hospital and staff. Everyone is treated quickly and with respect and personal care.
