For most of us the beating of our heart, and breathing in and out, are things that we do without thinking much about. But for millions of Americans, heart and lung disease make these basic functions of our body difficult. Fort Madison Community Hospital’s Cardiopulmonary Program is made up of a team of health care professionals specially trained to work with patients who suffer from heart and lung disease.  They work closely with your health care team at FMCH to provide you with quality, compassionate care when the need arises.

This dedicated Cardiopulmonary Services staff specializes in the diagnostic testing, treatment, education and rehabilitation of both inpatient and outpatient clients. Education and exercise are essential to the recovery of patients with cardiac or pulmonary conditions. The FMCH Cardiopulmonary Program is certified by the American Association of Respiratory Care, recognized as a top-quality facility.
